Wilshire Grand is a mixed-use project in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, on the Figueroa Corridor. The project plays a significant role in the downtown revitalization and will soon become an iconic piece of the skyline.
RELM is currently designing various components of public and private outdoor spaces for the project. The street plaza level graciously welcomes pedestrians to the corner of 7th and Figueroa, directly across from one of the busiest Metro Stations in Los Angeles. With large scale water features, drought tolerant landscape, and a hardscape palette of natural materials, the public realm is embraced and celebrated. Hotel and office tower guests are welcomed up a series of grand stairs before entering state of the art lobbies.
Once inside, visitors will be able to experience a native Korean garden outside of the Pre-Function Area as an acknowledgment of the culture that the owner brings with them across the Pacific. The grand ballroom will contain a living tableau of California landscape imposed on the impressive and exciting city skyline, as seen from sixty feet up in the air. One of the grandest features of the hotel is the pool deck and amenity space, elevated over the streetscape some eighty-feet plus. With views both south and east over Downtown Los Angeles, the pool deck will boast not only the best sun deck, but also one of the best night time photo opportunities for visitors and residents alike. The pool deck will have something for everyone, from a large infinity-edge pool and spa to fire features to a children’s wet deck play area.
