Famed Pauley Pavilion is home to UCLA basketball, volleyball and gymnastics teams. Completed in 1965, it was long overdue for a substantial renovation to meet the demands of current day college athletics. UCLA partnered with notable sports architect NBBJ and RELM to undertake a significant expansion and modernization of the historic structure.
Beyond the traditional improvements to the bowl surrounding the court itself, much attention was paid to expanding the interior perimeter concourse, as well as almost two acres of exterior plazas to better accommodate gatherings, celebrations and events, and provide the appropriate setting for this special building.
Prominently located along Bruin Walk, Pauley Pavilion is a signature building reborn. It successfully blends the rich history of UCLA tradition with the development of modern athletic facilities through timeless materials, and places an emphasis on creating a campus identity that provides Bruin fans and local citizens a distinct UCLA experience.
