“MyFig” Figueroa Corridor Revisioning

“MyFig” Figueroa Corridor Revisioning

Client CRA-LA/LADOT
Location Los Angeles

This catalyic streetscape project - which broke ground in October of 2016 - will dramatically change the Figueroa Corridor from an automobile dominated street into a complete and green street, providing a better environment for people who walk, bike, and take transit. Along with 3 miles of Figueroa Street, the project will also improve portions of 11th Street, and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Downtown LA. The project showcases on-street protected bicycle paths (cycletracks), – the first in Los Angeles – that will run in the direction of traffic, adjacent to the curbs in some segments, and buffered in other segments. The plan also includes pedestrian-scaled street lighting, street trees and planting areas, repaired and enhanced sidewalk paving, enhanced crosswalk treatments, transit platforms and furniture, wayfinding signage, and integrated public art.
