SENIOR LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT

POSITION OVERVIEW
RELM is seeking talented and skilled Senior Landscape Architects to join our studio. Applicants must be professional, communicative, collaborative, constructive with criticism, detail oriented and proactive with a strong commitment to design excellence.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work directly with studio principals to facilitate the design direction and to guide the design process
  • Develop innovative and highly creative design solutions in response to challenges posed by project’s scope
  • Provide project management throughout all project phases; manage project budgets and schedules
  • Direct and manage project team throughout all project phases ensuring collaboration, successful project delivery
  • Manage preparation of landscape architectural drawings for all project phases, including proposals, presentations, concept, schematics, design documents, cost estimates, and construction documents
  • Serve as a liaison to clients and all external design team members, consultants and contractors
  • Participate in project meetings and presentations, both internal and external, throughout all project phases
  • Conduct in-house quality control review of projects
  • Mentor and train junior design staff
  • Participate in studio marketing efforts through proposal development, interview participation and presentations (including proposal writing and fee negotiation)

 

We are looking for an outgoing individual with the following attributes:

  • Possess a full range of project experience in the design and documentation of projects of varying scales, from conceptual design through construction administration
  • Experience managing projects of various size and complexity
  • Proven experience in construction observation, on-site management skills and preparation of site reviews and analyses
  • Strong design and graphic skills including hand drawing and rendering
  • Ability to translate conceptual design into construction drawings and details
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with attention to detail
  • Proven time-management, organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work well with and lead others in a collaborative team setting
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office required

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience
  • Licensed Landscape Architect in the State of California, or in a position to quickly gain a CA license
